Libyan Political Analyst
Mr Anas El Gomati is a Libyan political analyst and activist, and founder of the Sadeq Institute, the first indigenous and independent Policy Institute, and Think-Tank in the MENA region. He holds both a BA in Politics & French from Loughborough University (UK), and most recently he has completed a course in leadership at the London School of Economics and Political Science (2011). He has published and advised various European think tanks during the recent Libyan revolution, the newest book being ‘Freedom or Survival?’ (EUISS – 2011) on non-violent solutions to the Libyan conflict. He has also been a frequent commentator on Al Jazeera English, France 24 (English, French and Arabic), Russia Today and Sky News amongst others. Anas’ primary research areas and interests include the role of Islam and state, post-conflict security and foreign policy.
