Senior Security Advisor for The BITS Financial Rountable
Gregory J. Rattray is an internationally recognized cyber defense and policy expert currently serving as the Senior Security Advisor for BITS Financial Rountable. Dr. Rattray brings an exceptional record in establishing strategies for cyber security across both the government and private sectors. During his 23 year Air Force career, he served as the Director for Cyber Security on the National Security Council staff in the White House under Richard Clarke and Dr. Condolezza Rice, where he was a key contributor to the President's National Strategy to Secure Cyberspace, helped initiate the first national cyber security exercise program involving government and the private sector, and served as a senior security adviser on foreign investments for the U.S. government regarding corporate acquisitions and outsourcing concerns in the telecommunications and information technology sector. Dr Rattray also commanded the Operations Group of the AF Information Warfare Center. He also served from 2007 to 2010 as the Chief Security Advisor to Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) establishing strategies for ICANN role in enhancing security and resiliency of the domain name system. He was the driving force in the establishment of the Cyber Conflict Studies Association. Dr. Rattray is a Full Member, Council on Foreign Relations. He received his Bachelor's Degree in Political Science and Military History from the U.S. Air Force Academy; a Master of Public Policy from the John F. Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University; and his Doctor of Philosophy in International Affairs from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, Tufts University. He is the author of the seminal book "Strategic Warfare in Cyberspace".
