Matthew Hulbert is Senior Research Fellow at Clingendael International Energy Programm (The Hague). He was previously Senior Fellow at ETH Zurich, leading its work on energy security and political risk having originally come from the City of London where we was Senior Energy Analyst at Datamonitor and head of Global Risk at Control Risks Group. Prior to this, he held political consulting positions at Weber Shandwick Worldwide; was policy director of the largest All Party Parliamentary Group in the UK Parliament, and started his career at the Foreign Policy Centre.
He publishes and speaks widely in leading policy outlets – he holds an energy column with Forbes Magazine, lead analyst for European Energy Review, guest contributor for the Financial Times, contributing writer for World Politics Review (New York) and Executive editor at The Globalist (Washington DC). His latest book will come out in 2012 entitled Mastery of Oil: China the West and the New Energy Order. He went to Cambridge and Durham University.
