Pavlo Klimkin

Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine

H.E. Mr. Pavlo Klimkin was appointed the Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine in April 2010.

Prior to his appointment, he held many posts at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and foreign delegations of Ukraine. From 1993- 1997 he worked as Attaché and as the Second Secretary of the Directorate General for Arms Control and Disarmament at the Ministry. Mr. Klimkin held the post of the Second Secretary for the political issues at the Embassy of Ukraine to the Federal Republic of Germany (1997-2000), the First Secretary and Counselor of the Department for economic cooperation at the MFA (2000-2002) and the Head of division for economic and sectorial cooperation with the EU at the Department for European integration at the MFA (2002-2004).

Furthermore, Mr. Klimkin was the Minister-Counselor and the Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of Ukraine to the Great Britain from 2004 till 2008 and he held the post of the Director of the EU Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine in years 2008-2010.
