| Founded nine years ago, the GLOBSEC Bratislava Global Security Forum has become a unique foreign policy and security platform – giving a Central European twist to the strategic debate on transatlantic foreign policy, economy and security. With the participation of over 800 key stakeholders from more than 60 countries, GLOBSEC has acquired a stable position among the elite club of major conferences in Europe and North America and is often compared with prestigious forums held in Brussels or Munich. Over the years, GLOBSEC’s guest list has included Zbigniew Brzezinski, Toomas Hendrik Ilves, Anders Fogh Rasmussen, Radosław Sikorski, Karin Enström, Ahmed Rashid, Franco Frattini & others. GLOBSEC 2014 will be held under the auspices of and in cooperation with the Hungarian Presidency of the Visegrad Group.

| GLOBSEC 2014 will again assemble a wide array of political and diplomatic elites, key security and foreign policy stakeholders from both sides of the Atlantic, the most influential experts from leading European, American and Middle Eastern think-tanks, academia, and business leaders – all under the watchful eye of international media. GLOBSEC 2014 will man its panels with ministers in charge of defence, foreign affairs and economic agendas from Washington D.C to Beijing, key representatives of international organisations as well as independent experts always ready to challenge traditional lines of thought.

| Each year influential public figures assume honorary chairmanship of the GLOBSEC Forum and give the organisers political support and valuable advice. For the 2014 conference, the chairmanship has been assumed by H. E. Miroslav Lajčák, deputy prime minister and minister of foreign and European affairs of the Slovak Republic, and his Hungarian counterpart, H. E. János Martonyi, minister of foreign affairs of Hungary.
