On September 8, 2016 GLOBSEC organized a discussion panel entitled “The Role of Visegrad Countries in Supporting the Integration of the Western Balkans”, that took place during the Regional Euro-Atlantic Camp 2016 (REACT). REACT 2016 is organized annually by the ALFA Centar Nikšić and GLOBSEC was a partner of this year’s Camp. The partnership at the event is in line with GLOBSEC’s continuous involvement in Montenegro since 2009 with the aim of raising public awareness about NATO membership in the country. The mentioned panel featured experts from Visegrad countries – Ján Cingel, research fellow from the GLOBSEC Policy Institute, Erik Baktai, senior advisor from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary and Martin Michelot, research fellow from the think-tank EUROPEUM, Czech Republic. The discussion with 80 young leaders from 16 countries of the Western Balkans as well as the Central Europe revolved around Visegrad countries’ experience with the NATO accession and how these countries are supporting further integration of the Western Balkans to the EU and NATO. The REACT 2016 was organized from September 5 – 10, 2016 in Ivanova Korita near Cetinje - historical capitol of Montenegro. The partnership of GLOBSEC at the event was facilitated through regional project entitled “Visegrad for the South-East Europe: Towards Successful Integration“, that is being implemented in Montenegro and Serbia in 2015 – 16 and is financially supported by the International Visegrad Fund.
