Gen. Pavel Macko

Substitute of the General in Chief of the Slovak Armed Forces

Major General Pavel Macko Ph.D. is a Slovak general. Since December 18th, 2013 he is an appointed substitute of the General in Chief of the Slovak Armed Forces (OSSR). Precedently since 2011, Macko was the Commanding Officer of the NATO allied forces training centre in Bydgoszcz. He was the highest ranked Slovak in the structure of the Alliance. He also served in NATO structures in Heidelberg and Afghanistan and in the General staff of the Slovak Armed Forces. He was named Major General by the president of the Slovak Republic on 15 April 2011. In 2010, Macko served as the chief of the military defence training – JOINT GOAL  2010. His first General rank, Brigade General was appointed to him on 30 June 2004, whilst serving as the Chief of logistics of Sily výcviku a podpory (Former Militia of the Slovak Armed Forces)
