Sinisa Aleksoski

National Security Advisor

Sinisa Aleksoski since 2009 has served as Acting Advisor for National Security to the President of the Republic of Macedonia*, Security Council Secretary, member of the Steering Committee for Crisis Management and Coordinator of the Assessment Group for possible military threats and risks endangering national sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity. 

He is an expert and authorized official regarding all subjects of the national security system. He has also served at various positions in the Ministry of interior and Intelligence Agency. 

His professional career began 18 years ago as a police officer in the Special Police Forces Unit "Tigers.” He has since served as Covert Operations Surveillance Inspector, Criminal Police Investigator in the Organized Crime Department, Chief Commander of the Special Police Mobile Unit "Alpha", State Advisor for Police Issues of the Minister of Interior, as well as Advisor for Strategy and Development in the Intelligence Agency and Assistant to the Director of the Intelligence Agency. 

He was several times awarded by the Minister of Interior for participation in special police operations, actions with successfully protected public safety while combating extremely violent and criminal groups in Macedonia*.

In addition, he completed a specialized courses and studies in counter-terrorism at the General Directorate of State Security in Egypt, the International Institute for Counterterrorism at Herzliya, Israel, security studies, counter terrorism and violent extremism at the George Marshal European Center for Security Studies, and another course in countering violent extremism at the US Special Operation Command’s Joint Special Operation University.

His academic background also includes a Bachelor’s degree in Political Studies, an MA in International Policy and Law, and a PhD in Political and Security Studies, all from the SS Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje, Republic of Macedonia*.
