Theresa Fallon is a Senior Associate with the European Institute for Asian Studies (EIAS) with more than 20 years' experience as analyst, writer and commentator on global energy and geopolitics. She is a member of the Council for Security Cooperation in the Asia Pacific (CSCAP-EU) and the Strategic Advisors Group for NATO Supreme Allied Command Europe and Commander U.S. European Command (SACEUR). Prior to joining EIAS in 2008, she worked in Beijing from 2003 to 2007 as a researcher and consultant. From 1998 to 2003 she was the Moscow representative of PlanEcon, a research and consulting firm and taught in the first MBA program established in Russia. After college she lived and worked in Japan for two years and taught at Gyosei High School. Her recent publications include “The New Silk Road: Xi Jinping's Grand Strategy for Eurasia” (American Foreign Policy Interests, June 2015) and “China's Pivot to Europe” (AFPI, June 2014). She was educated at the University of Chicago, Loyola University and the London School of Economics and Political Science.
