How to map the Ikhwan’s presence in an uncharted region?

The Muslim Brotherhood is many things to many observers. Some label it a terrorist organisation, others accept it as a modernist movement. There is a good reason why this entity is so hard to pinpoint. It has been constantly evolving and throughout the time it has spread to multiple countries, where it took diverse forms and adjusted its activities accordingly. Its Western European activities have been thoroughly covered in the literature, however, what is lacking is uncovering the reality on the ground in the Eastern part of Europe. Supported by Counter Extremism Project, GLOBSEC has taken the initiative to start mapping the Brotherhood’s labour in a selection of countries in the region. At this webinar, we would like to present the first report on the methodology of this effort along with already seen examples of Brotherhood’s activity in the CEE.
