Young Team of the Slovak Atlantic Commission organised the last event of the “Economic Seminar: Through an Economic Lens” series in the fall semester. The team had a pleasure of welcoming Mr Martin Vlachynský, an analyst in non-governmental think-tank INESS (Institute of Economic and Social Studies), as a guest speaker.
The topic of the seminar that took place on Tuesday, 28 November at Matej Bel University in Banská Bystrica, was monetary policy. Mr Vlachynský was speaking about money as currency its origin and evolution, new currencies such as Bitcoin and about the functioning of banks. The second part of the lecture focused on foreign trade, currency rates and the importance of export and import.
