“Partnership Day” was a study trip of experts and Members of the National Assembly of Republic of Serbia (NA RS) to Slovakia.  First step was identification of key experts and Members of NA RS who deal with the issue of NATO. This selection process also took into account diversity of representatives of the government coalition, opposition as well as representatives of minorities living in Serbia – together five participants were selected.  “Partnership Day” was then organized on 8 -10 December, 2014 first in Belgrade, Serbia, and later in Bratislava, Slovakia. Program was kicked off on 8 December 2014 at Slovak Embassy in Belgrade, where the participants were greeted by H.E. Ján Varšo. He then briefed the group on the activities of the Slovak NATO Contact Point Embassy.

The program then moved to Bratislava where the group attended 2 days of intensive meetings and discussions with representatives of Slovak government and non-governmental sphere. The topics under scrutiny included experience of the Slovak Republic with accession to NATO and EU. Participants had the opportunity to meet with members of Committees for foreign policy, defense and security of the National Council of the Slovak Republic. They also met with representatives of the Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs and the Security Council of the Slovak Republic. The program then culminated in office call at the Serbian Embassy in Bratislava.

After returning to Serbia delegation of experts and Members of Parliament met again with representatives of the Slovak Embassy in Belgrade to discuss the added value of the study trip and possibilities for future cooperation between the Slovak Embassy and the National Council of the Republic of Serbia in the frame of Slovak NATO Contact Point Embassy mandate.

10:00 – 11:00  Meeting with Mr. Miroslav Mizera, Head of the Secretariat of Presidency in Council of the  EU 2016, Cabinet of the Deputy Minister of Defence of the Slovak Republic.
11:45 – 12:30  Meeting with Mr. Manuel Korček, Director of the Department for Security Policy, MFEA SR
14:00 – 15:00  Meeting with Mr. František Šebej, chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National Council of the Slovak Republic
15:15 – 16:00  Meeting with Mr. Martin Fedor, member of the Committee for Defence and Security   of the National Council of the Slovak Republic
16:30  – 17:30 Meeting with representatives of the Slovak Atlantic Commission (SAC) and the Central  European Policy Institute (CEPI) .
