How can and should Europe defend its external borders? Can Europe stop the flow of migrants without violating their human right to apply for asylum in Europe? What can Europe do to influence the factors causing migration?

The Slovak news magazine and platform for free journalism .týždeň organizes a public debate to discuss Europe’s migration crisis. The event will feature insights, experience, and perspectives of the guests who know the situation ‘from within’ and whose work addresses broader migration causes.

Andrej Bán, photographer and reporter, will moderate the discussion between professor, doctor, and humanitarian worker Vladimír Krčméry, Aghan-born journalist Azim Farhádi, and CEPI’s security analyst Marian Majer.

The speakers will also deliberate on the causes and types of migration, the current situation in Afghanistan, Iran, Turkey, Greece, Serbia, Croatia, and other migration-effected countries, and the connection, if any, between migration and security.

More information about the event can be found here.
