The October 2013 visit of Tunisia´s civil society representatives within the project “Security Sector Reform in Tunisia: The Way Ahead“ in Slovakia, was just one of many activities SAC has been implementing in cooperation with local partners in Tunisia since 2012.

The main goal of the visit in Bratislava was primarily exchange of the Slovak experience from the security sector reform processes. Tunisia´s experts Ahmed Driss, director of the Centre of Mediterranean and International Studies in Tunis, Houda Haouami, civil activist with the Women and Progress Plus and Houla Ben nejma from the Tunisian organization for penal and security reform, met the representatives of the Slovak NGO´s, government and Slovak police to discuss topics related to the latest developments in Tunisia as well as relations between civil society and executive bodies in Slovakia.

Know-how sharing experience during the visit was possible thanks to the guidance of the SAC Transfer of Know-How Programme, professional inputs from Miroslav Mizera, Advisor to the State Secretary of the Ministry of Defence of Slovakia, Michal Slivka, Spokesman of the Police Headquarters of the Slovak Republic, Martin Pašiak from the Office of the Plenipotentiary of the SR Government for the Development of Civil Society and Grigorij Mesežnikov, Director, Institute for Public Affairs.
