16 July, 2014 – 06:45 to 18 July, 2014 – 16:00
On July 16-18, the Slovak Atlantic Commission will host the 2014 Visegrád School of Political Studies, a joint project of the Council of Europe and the European Academy of Diplomacy in Warsaw. The project is supported by the International Visegrád Fund and organised in cooperation with the Antall Jószef Knowledge Center, the Diplomatic Academy of Prague and the Slovak Atlantic Commission.
The programme will gather young politicians, representatives of a civic society, journalists and public servants from V4 countries for three days of seminars to help increase involvement in the democratic process, foster exchange of know-how and strengthen regional cooperation among a new generation of Central European “movers and shakers”. The seminar in Bratislava will mostly focus on defence and security matters and how to boost regional cooperation in this area.
The goal of the Visegrád School of Political Studies is to develop participants’ ability to identify and solve complex challenges facing societies in Central Europe and enhance the capacity to shape and strengthen the democratic process in their respective countries. The school will provide participants with an opportunity to establish a regional network of like-minded leaders, ready to take on greater responsibility for a more mature political culture in Central Europe and stronger leadership within the European Union.
