David Cameron will come to Slovakia for the first time. He will attend the global conference on foreign policy and security. Besides Mr. Cameron, five more prime ministers, six presidents and almost a thousand participants will attend this year’s GLOBSEC. The event takes place on 19-21 June in the Kempinski Hotel.
The tenth edition of the GLOBSEC international conference will once again attract the attention of the global media to Slovakia as UK Prime Minister David Cameron will attend this year’s GLOBSEC Forum. The last time a UK Prime Minister visited Slovakia was in 2006.
Besides the reform of the EU, GLOBSEC debates will pay attention to the situation in Ukraine and response to Russia, the threat of the Islamic State and terrorist attacks in Europe and transformation of NATO ahead of the 2016 Summit in Warsaw. The conference will be attended by almost a thousand invited guests and hundreds of journalists from all over the world.
GLOBSEC Forum is the leading annual forum on security and foreign policy in Central Europe. This year, GLOBSEC marks 10 years since its establishment. GLOBSEC’s mission is to strengthen the voice of Central Europe in the world, so that this region would become a part of the strategic European as well as international discussion, where answers to the current political and international security challenges are found. GLOBSEC Forum is organized by Slovak Atlantic Commission, member of the Central European Strategy Council.
Central European Strategy Council is an independent non-governmental organisation with more than 20-year history of the Slovak Atlantic Commission. Its mission is to strengthen the voice of Slovakia and Central Europe in European and global affairs. The organisation connects key Central European personalities and experts in foreign and security policy. Central European Strategy Council associates three organisations – the Slovak Atlantic Commission (SAC), the Central European Policy Institute (CEPI) and the Centre for European Affairs (CEA). The GLOBSEC forum, one of the biggest international conferences in Europe is organized by the Slovak Atlantic Commission.
