Between 29 November and 1 December, government representatives, thinkers, political and business leaders from Central Europe and beyond met in Belá, Slovakia, at the Château Béla 2013 Central European Strategic Forum to discuss the region’s role in European and transatlantic affairs and issues that are currently of fundamental interest to the region. Questions that were put on the table helped create deep, open, sometimes emotional discussions.

The 5th instalment of the Château Béla project was organised by the Slovak Atlantic Commission together with the Centre for European Studies and with the support of International Visegrad Fund, Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, NATO Public Diplomacy Division, SAAB, Západoslovenská energetika and BMW. The venue and related services were kindly provided by Château Béla.

The Slovak Atlantic Commission compiled a summary of all panel discussions. It offers a comprehensive look at the outcomes of the debates and recommendations that can influence regional policy-shaping. The summary can be found here.
