GLOBSEC Trends 2020: Key Highlights

For a fifth year, GLOBSEC Trends 2020: Central Europe, Eastern Europe and Western Balkans at the Times of Pandemic brings a unique insight into the Central and Eastern European and Western Balkan people’s minds, covering nine CEE and Western Balkans countries of Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Hungary, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Poland, Romania, Serbia and Slovakia.

The challenges and impact of the emerged COVID-19 pandemic have not withstood the region. Have authoritarian tendencies gained any ground with the surge of the COVID-19 crisis? Has the pandemic affected how the citizens of this region perceive the EU and NATO membership? How has the image of Russia, China or the US changed? Are the CEE and Western Balkan citizens prone to believe in conspiracy theories?
