Strategy Council and the Slovak Atlantic Commission representatives participated at the Tbilisi Transformational Leadership Forum (TTLF) on June 2 – 4, 2014 in Tbilisi, Georgia. The first TTLF featured young professionals from Visegrad 4 (V4) as well as Eastern Partnership (EaP) countries, who were selected during the first phase of the project – based on their motivation letters, curricula and recommendation letters. The Tbilisi event was the first activity within a project, where all young professionals met together and were exposed to Georgia’s transformational experience. The programme contained balanced mix of discussion panels with Georgian representatives, V4 experts as well as networking activities and cultural programme. The most important topics, which were discussed included – Georgia’s internal and strategic transformation; economic and social reforms; Russia, Ukraine and the Eastern Partnership; security sector reform in Georgia and in partner countries.
Strategy Council and SAC were represented by Mr. Jaroslav Naď, who spoke about the Slovak and V4 experience with defence reform and transformation and Mr. Jan Cingel, who is the coordinator of the project on the SAC’s part.
The TTLF is a joint project implemented by the Georgian Institute for Strategic Studies (GISS) in cooperation with SAC and other organizations from Visegrad 4 and EaP countries. The project is financed by the International Visegrad Fund and the second event of the project will take place on November 3 – 5, 2014 in Bratislava, Slovakia.
