On 1 and 2 July 2015, Prof. György Schöpflin hosted a meeting of an informal V4 MEP Caucus which took place in a historic town of Visegrád in Hungary. Meeting’s participants included Szabolcs Takács (State Secretary for EU affairs, HU), Ivan Štefanec (MEP, SK), Tomáš Zdechovský (MEP, CZ), Roman Kowalski (Polish Ambassador in Hungary) and Milan Nič (Managing Director, CEPI). An informal discussion primarily focused on the results of the European Council summit on 25-26 June in the area of migration and their impact on the V4’s future and its standing vis-à-vis other EU members. Participants also tackled initiatives regarding the future of the EU’s integration, TTIP and the risks of realization of Brexit and Grexit scenarios.
