The Economic Forum in Krynica Zdroj, Poland is an umbrella project of the Foundation Institute for Eastern Studies. Organized since 1992, the conference has become one of the most important economic events in Europe attended by political and business elites. The Forum’s mission is to create a favorable climate for the development of political and economic cooperation between EU member states and their neighbours. The Forum aims to promote social and political education serving democratic future of Poland and other countries in Central and Eastern Europe; to promote development of economic, scientific, technological and cultural co-operation; to support and undertake mutual initiatives in those fields; to act for the benefit of co-operation and trust building among Central and East European countries, and to support and undertake activities and projects helping individuals and communities better understand local processes induced by transformation of centrally planned economies into modern, democratic states with free market economies. In fulfilling its mission, the Forum is independent and impartial.
