Viktor Szűcs is a Junior Research Fellow within the Defence and Security Programme at the GLOBSEC Policy Institute (GPI). The department’s centre of attention is on challenges related to the changing European and global security environment. Viktor’s work concerns operations of projects, the most notable being From criminals to terrorists and back? which studies links between terrorists in Europe and criminal networks on this continent. His past experience is in the NGO sector focused on education, specifically in Colombia, where he coordinated a pioneering programme in several cities and towns. He supervised international volunteers who taught English in a public institution for impoverished youth. Viktor is an alumnus of European Studies at Maastricht University in the Netherlands. His Master thesis researched the influence of the EU on integration of the Andean Community. Viktor speaks fluent Slovak, English, and Spanish.
