Danit Gal is a Project Assistant Professor at the Global Research Institute at Keio University in Tokyo, Japan, where she works on strategic technology planning and the digital humanities. She’s also a Yenching Scholar at Peking University and International Strategic Advisor to the iCenter at Tsinghua University in Beijing, China. Danit chairs the P7009 IEEE standard on the Fail-Safe Design of Autonomous and Semi-Autonomous Systems working group, and chairs the Outreach Committee of The IEEE Global Initiative on the Ethics of Autonomous and Intelligent Systems. She is a member of the Association of Pacific Rim Universities – Google research project ‘AI for Everyone: Building Trust in and Benefiting from the Technology’ and is interested in creating inclusive and sustainable AI solutions in developing markets. Passionate about designing deploying, and using technology to benefit humanity, Danit is an active public speaker on these topics.
