Gabriel Semanišin works at the Institute of Computer Science, Faculty of Science, P.J. Šafárik University in Košice, Slovakia. Since 2011 he serves as the dean of the faculty. In 1993 he finished the study of Theoretical cybernetics, mathematical informatics and theory of systems. In 1997 he received his PhD degree in Discrete Mathematics. His main field of expertise is algorithmic graph theory, computational complexity, process modelling and information systems development. He is an author and co-author of more than 40 scientific papers in referred journals and conference proceedings. He gave more than 50 speeches at scientific conference and seminars. He hosted at numerous foreign universities. He participated as an investigator/principal investigator in more 20 projects in the area of mathematics, computer science and informatics funded by Slovak grant agencies and EU grant schemes. In the period 1993-2000 he held various positions at the development team of the Tax information systems of Slovak Republic. Since 1997 he has been participating at development and implementation of the Academic information system AiS2. He is a member of a few scientific boards and in the past he served as member of the Commission for e-Health of the Ministry of Health. He is the member of the Board of Directors of Košice IT Valley Association.
