Michèle de Waard is an experienced journalist/publicist on international economics and international politics. She writes a column about Worldpolitics in Het Financieele Dagblad
in Amsterdam. She was a correspondent for Germany (Bonn and Berlin) for the Dutch newspaper NRC Handelsblad. She worked as a European reporter in Brussels and Europa. She also managed the economics department at NRC Handelsblad. She wrote a book about the German reunification (2003), The miracle of the Berliner Republic. Last year she published a book about the German chancellor ‘Angela Merkel, a political biography’.
She studies Journalism at the Academy of Journalism in Utrecht, history at the University of Utrecht and a postdoc International Economics at the London School of Economics and Political Science.
She was eight years member of the management of the German Institute of Amsterdam.
