His Excellency Suhail Al Mazrouei is the UAE’s Minister of Energy and Industry. He has been Minister of Energy since 2013, with his portfolio expanding to include Industry in 2017. His work covers sustainable development and the coordination of the UAE’s resources, including petroleum, minerals, electricity, and water.

Beside his ministerial responsibilities, HE Al Mazrouei holds a number of senior leadership positions across the energy sector. He is Chairman of the Board of Directors of both the Federal Electricity and Water Authority and Emirates Liquefied Gas Co. He also holds senior roles at the Supreme Petroleum Council, Petroleum Development Co, and Dolphin Energy Co.

In addition, HE Al Mazrouei has considerable corporate experience in various sectors, including ship building, defence systems, oil and gas, and real estate development. From 2007 to 2013 he worked at Mudabala Petroleum (where he is now Chairman of the Board of Directors), and during his tenure he added new projects to the company’s portfolio in Oman, Bahrain, and Kazakhstan.

He holds a degree in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Tulsa, in the US.
