Yves Bertoncini has been Director of the Jacques Delors Institute since April 2011.He assists the President in his activities, directs the team and is responsible for managing its work programme. He also takes part in the Jacques Delors Institute’s research activities, focusing in particular on questions of European politics and institutions, and on issues relating to democracy, citizenship and mobility.
Yves Bertoncini also works from Paris as adminstrator at the European Commission, where he has worked at the Directorates-General of “Education, Training, Youth” and “Regional Policy”. Previously, he has also worked in the office of the French Prime Minister with responsibility for research on Europe at the Centre d’Analyse Stratégique (2006-09), and as adviser to the Secretary-General of European Affairs (2010-2011).
He has also worked for the French Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs on the organization of the “National Dialogue for Europe” (1995-1997) and at the French embassy in Algiers (1992-93). He has also been the Head of international affairs at the French Insurance Association (2002-05).
