Rok 2020 sa v oblasti medzinárodných vzťahov a bezpečnosti javí ako veľmi turbulentný a dynamický. Pandémia spôsobená ochorením COVID-19 priniesla pre Európu, ako aj pre všetky kontinenty nové výzvy. Neustála hrozba vírusu COVID-19 spomalila vývoj v euroatlantickom priestore. Ani v takejto situácii však nesmieme zabudnúť na neutíchajúce geopolitické súperenie a aj v čase krízy sa zamerať na ďalšie posilňovanie bezpečnosti v Európe v duchu vzájomnej spolupráce.

A discussion with Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer, Federal Minister of Defence, Federal Republic of Germany was moderated by Róbert Vass, President of GLOBSEC.
The year 2020 can be considered significantly turbulent with atypical dynamics in terms of international relations and security. All of a sudden, the pandemic crisis caused by COVID-19 brought up new challenges that European countries need to face. The constantly present coronavirus slightly slowed down the development of the status quo in the Euro-Atlantic area. However, we must not forget about the everlasting geostrategic competition. It is therefore inevitable, in the midst of the crisis, to focus on how to further strengthen our security in Europe on the basis of mutual cooperation.
