The organizers decided to postpone the original date due to the current epidemiological situation and with the speed of loosening of the restrictions in international travelling. “The situation in Slovakia, similar to other European countries, is getting better due to vaccination and after consultations with epidemiologists, we expect that it will be possible to organize a safe gathering in the middle of June. This will of course happen with a smaller number of physically present participants and with strict epidemiological measures” commented Róbert Vass, President and the Founder of GLOBSEC.

The conference was organized in October last year, as one of the few events in Europe that happened throughout the COVID19 pandemic. “We are regularly meeting with the epidemiologists and experts, so that we are able to organize GLOBSEC in a safe matter, without any spread of the virus. We are once again planning to create a safety perimeter, together with testing all the participants. In the autumn last year, we did not register a single case of the spread of the disease, which proves that we are able to adjust the measures correctly” adds Vass.

The key is to recover from the pandemic, Pope Francis will take part in the conference online

The key topic of the GLOBSEC 2021 Bratislava Forum will focus on the recovery from the pandemic COVID-19 with a sub-headline “Building the World Back Better”. “The situation is getting better in the majority part of the world thanks to the vaccination. It is an appropriate time to start seriously talking and facing the consequences to ensure our ability to face similar crisis more effectively in the future” enclosed Vass.

The conference will be dedicated to 5 main topics: Democratic Renewal & Rebuilding Trust, Economic growth & Recovery, Global Europe in Post-pandemic World, Tech Governance, Security for 21st Century and Resilience in Health.

Similar to last year, dozens of participants will take place either in person or virtually, including many political leaders, entrepreneurs, international journalists and experts on foreign affairs, economy and technology. This year’s Forum will be virtually also joined by Pope Francis. More information about the epidemiological measures will be available soon.
