GLOBSEC to host NATO SG Stoltenberg’s discussion with youth

27.02.2019

GLOBSEC has the opportunity to once again welcome a major figure in the field of international security. Jens Stoltenberg will discuss with young students and the professional public the challenges ahead of the Alliance. The debate entitled NATO engages - The 2019 Košice Dialogue will be organized in cooperation with the city of Košice and the NATO Public Diplomacy Division on February 28, 2019.

The topic of the discussion is the role of NATO in the current international environment, and the importance of the Alliance nowadays. As the President of GLOBSEC, Róbert Vass points out: „In Slovakia, we understand the importance of the Alliance and we appreciate the opportunity to contribute to the formation of its common values. We are witnessing the emergence of challenges such as cybersecurity and innovations, and we understand the need to bring up these issues.”

We will have the opportunity to discuss the value-added of Slovakia for these fields within the Alliance.

We appreciate the willingness of Secretary General Stoltenberg to share his views with the audience, this time in the metropolis of Eastern Slovakia, Košice.

We believe that the participants of the debate will appreciate the effort of GLOBSEC to bring

debates across the entire Slovak Republic. In October 2018, during a one-day visit by French President Emmanuel Macron, the GLOBSEC think tank organized a public youth debate with him. In mid-February, GLOBSEC was honoured to host a discussion with US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo. We are constantly aiming at bringing more world leaders to the Slovak citizenry, and only two weeks after the visit of the US State Secretary we have another opportunity to do so. We remain determined to contribute further to the public discussion.

The discussion will be live-streamed on our social media accounts:

Facebook channel and Youtube channel
