Statement on the GLOBSEC 2020 Bratislava Forum regarding the outbreak of novel coronavirus COVID-19

12.03.2020

In recent weeks we have seen a surge in confirmed cases of the disease in Europe and the outbreak has led to intensified precautionary measures all over Europe.

As of now, GLOBSEC is committed to organising the GLOBSEC 2020 Bratislava Forum as originally planned for 21 – 23 May, therefore please keep these dates in your calendar.

At the same time, we are closely monitoring the development of the situation on a daily basis in order to take any precautionary steps available to prepare our organisation as the situation unfolds, including working closely with the relevant Slovak public authorities.

GLOBSEC fully supports any precautionary measures to curb the spread of the virus as the health and well-being of our guests, partners as well as colleagues is our first and utmost priority. Therefore, we have started preparing a contingency plan, with a possible alternative date for GLOBSEC 2020 Bratislava Forum in autumn, if the disease spread in Europe continues to increase.

The final decision on any potential rescheduling of the Forum is due to take place no later than 10 April. However, depending on the circumstances a new conference date might be announced much sooner.
