Why Facts and Think Tanks Matter 2019
On January 31st, hundreds of think tanks and other civil society actors around the world are joining for a unique global programme, and GLOBSEC is delighted to be taking part. Organised by the Think Tanks and Civil Societies Program (TTCSP) at the at the University of Pennsylvania, the programme involves a series of coordinated events that highlight the important role think tanks play in government and civil societies around the world. These events are also happening around the launch of this year's Global Go To Think Tank Index.
The TTCSP's inital efforts to produce a global ranking of think tanks in 2006 was in response to a series of requests from donors, government officials, journalists and scholars. Since then, the objective of the Global Go To Think Tank Index report has been to gain a better understanding of the role think tanks play in governments and civil societies. It is anticipated that this knowledge will help to enhance the quality, capacity and performance of think tanks around the world.
