The GLOBSEC Energy Programme addresses the key challenges of Europe’s green transition, focusing on balancing sustainability, security, and affordability, so called "energy trilemma."

It serves as a platform for industry leaders, policymakers, and international organisations to shape strategies for a sustainable energy future. The Programme’s content and focus are guided by the Energy Advisory Committee, which offers expert insights on the most relevant topics for the expert community from both the private and public sectors. The Committee comprises members from various sectors, including NGOs, businesses, and international organisations, ensuring comprehensive representation and diverse perspectives. Their insights play a critical role in shaping the Programme’s outputs and guiding its long-term strategy.

Why is the Programme Needed?

The energy transition demands fundamental shifts across industries, with Europe aiming for a carbon-negative energy sector by 2040. CEE region faces additional challenges, such as infrastructure gaps, renewable energy integration, and energy security concerns. Effective stakeholder collaboration is essential to overcome these barriers and achieve climate goals.

Key Pillars

  • Stakeholder Engagement:  Foster partnerships between decision-makers, businesses, and NGOs to drive energy policy and infrastructure development.

  • Policy Advisory and Guidance:  Provide analyses and recommendations on nuclear and renewable energy projects, transparent incentives, and permitting.

  • Grid Preparedness:  Identify solutions for electricity grid upgrades, including flexibility and demand response mechanisms.

  • Media and Public Discourse:  Organise high-profile debates and media campaigns to influence energy discussions.

  • Central European Perspective:  Leverage regional expertise for global impact, while addressing local infrastructure gaps.
