Matti Massikas

DEPUTY MINISTER FOR EU AFFAIRS, MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS OF THE REPUBLIC OF ESTONIA, TALLINN

Matti Maasikas is currently Deputy Minister for EU Affairs with the main task of overseeing relations with EU institutions during the Estonian Presidency of the Council of the European Union which is going to be held by Estonia in the second half of 2017.

Previously, among other positions, he has served as the Permanent Representative of Estonia to the EU from 2011-2016, an adviser for the European Commission Bureau of European Policy Advisers, a Member of Cabinet for European Commissioner for Enlargement and Economic and Monetary Affairs, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from 2005-2008 and the Ambassador of Estonia to Finland in 2001-2005.
