09.12.2020 - EU Defence Partnerships: How it works and how it is viewed by EU member states?

06.12.2020

9th December 10:00 - 11:30 (CET)

GLOBSEC in cooperation with NUPI has the pleasure to organize an exclusive closed-door online event.

In October EU member states agreed on the conditions to allow third countries to participate in join PESCO. In this context, the GLOBSEC Policy Institute launched a new report on Third country participation in EU defence integration: How it works and how it is viewed by EU member states?

The aim of this online closed-door roundtable will be to present the policy paper, which can serve as food for thought to discuss defence cooperation in Europe and beyond.  The webinar should contribute to develop recommendations on meaningful third-party access in the European Integration framework and contribute to strengthening practical cooperation between the EU and third parties, especially Norway.

Throughout the online event we would like to address the following issues:

  • What are the possible ways of working together across a project in the future defence and security policy?
  • How to include and involve third countries in EU defence integration, even more, in which areas, projects, policies?
  • What are the potential ways to structure cooperation with third countries?
  • How can Norway optimally participate in EU defence integration processes?

This online event forms part of the project titled “Enhanced European Opportunity Partners in the EU’s Defence and Security Initiatives: Study case of Norway”, which is funded by the Norwegian Ministry of Defence.

This is a closed-door session, in case you are interested in joining please send an email to [email protected].
