GLOBSEC Strengthens Ties with OSCE Body
A cursory inspection of our website demonstrates that GLOBSEC is all about building a broad range of partnerships. Our global network of partners are not only the bedrock of our annual Bratislava Forum and Tatra Summit, but also help us to develop and disseminate ideas that shape our world. That’s why GLOBSEC is delighted to announce its membership of the OSCE Network of Think Tanks and Academic Institutions (the Network).
In doing so, GLOBSEC joins a select group of European organisations engaged in academic research and policy analysis on issues relevant to the OSCE’s security agenda. We’re confident our membership will provide even greater opportunities to advance the work of the GLOBSEC Policy Institute (GPI) and forge partnerships with think tanks and institutes that identify with our values. We also join the Network one year ahead of Slovakia’s Chairmanship of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe, which we hope will be a time when our country builds consensus among member states on the most pressing economic, political and security challenges facing the continent.
‘’GLOBSEC certainly intends to be an active part of the Network’’, says the GPI’s Jan Cingel. ‘’We want to forge new partnerships, embark on new projects and contribute to expert discourse by sharing outputs from our research initiatives. From unpacking the crime-terror nexus to tackling hot button issues in the wider European neighbourhood – and more – GLOBSEC wants to have an impact and make a difference’’.
GLOBSEC looks forward to keeping you up to date with its contributions to and partnerships formed by membership of the Network. Central Europe’s influence within important European institutions continues, and we’re proud to be part of the change.
